Our vision is to provide innovative care and comprehensive treatment allowing your loved one to thrive and stay healthy. We are committed to providing efficient service and believe in involving you in the decision making and care for your pet. There are always options regarding how to approach a pet’s care, and we will partner with you to make those choices.
We pride ourselves on offering the best possible care available and believe many diseases can be avoided through preventive medicine. Combining education into daily interactions with you, our goal is to support a happy and healthy life for your pet.
I named Wildwood after my daughter’s favorite book, Wildwood, by Colin Meloy (lead singer of the Decemberists). Taking place in Portland, the book reminds me of the powerful bond between animals and people. We look forward to caring for your dogs and cats, fostering this important connection.
Efficient: Our exams are designed to limit the stress of waiting for clients and pets. From check in to check out, our veterinarian is with you throughout the entire visit to answer all of your questions and serve as a trusted partner in your pet’s care. Our extended exams typically last 45 minutes which includes intake with our reception team, a physical history with our technicians followed by a physical examination, diagnostics (if needed) and a thorough explanation of a treatment plan from our veterinarian.
Comprehensive: We focus on client education to ensure pet owners fully understand the importance of preventative care, differential diagnosis for various conditions, reasons for diagnostics, and what treatment may entail. Our veterinary team follows up with clients via email after appointments and provides a full summary of recommendations with detailed explanations. Our veterinary team is always available to answer any questions clients may have regarding their pet’s care.
Collaborative: At Wildwood Veterinary Clinic we strive to be a trusted and valued partner in your pet’s care. We involve clients in every step of the decision making process. No two patients or clients are the same, and we account for these unique individualities when recommending care. When patients present with more difficult disease processes, we rely on our established partnerships within the veterinary community to make sure that our patients have access to the most experienced health care team. We work closely with specialists from Oregon State University as well as local specialists in internal medicine, animal behavior, dermatology and radiology.
